Color Forecast spring/summer 2011
As we become accustomed to the complex global world context there is the urge to think positive, to adopt an optimistic outlook. This is the underlying concept at work in the season’s four stories.

IN BLOOM: This season’s hippie deluxe, the In Bloom woman represents a mix of innocence and extravagance with a strong green vibe. She has an inventive and colorful temperament and a fresh and quirky personality. Her make-up is a mixture of down-to-earth classic beauty styles perked up with offbeat effects.
Inspired by countryside flowers and foliage, the pink and yellow-green palette evokes the first days of spring’s renaissance: pollen, peony, tea pink, chlorophyll, laurel, sage, wallflower, absinthe;
Fresh, precious and romantic - the meticulously made-up features are obtained through airy, powdery or sprayed textures for a perfect pale complexion.
WANDERLUST: An experienced traveler, the Wanderlust woman is cosmopolitan and sophisticated, never sacrificing her comfort or well-being. For make-up, she’s an expert at nude looks that are fresh yet low profile for everyday, and more glamorous for special occasions.
The color palette features washed, faded and bleached half-tones, offset by three more intense shades (blue, red and ocher) for contrasts.
A nomadic and glamorous beauty style in a sober, simpler, new nude spirit. Shine is extremely subtle, textures are mostly matte, heavy smoky eyes are used to create a femme fatale feel. Cold metallic shades add a sophisticated edge.
SOLARIS: The Solaris woman has a warm and lively personality. She appreciates the good things in life. Sophisticated but also natural, she keeps a glowing complexion and subtly enhances her features with innovative cosmetics.
Reddish ochers, burnt oranges, fiery reds and charred browns are treated in rich monochromatic blends or in graphic contrasts with chalk white and pigmentary blue. Earthy tones and textures update terracotta.
The unconventional red palette infuses a new twist to smoky eyes. Lips and nails are decked in a rich array of warm dark tones, in either ultra glossy or very matte effects.
CHEERFUL: The Cheerful woman likes the simple things in life and having fun. She tries out new cosmetics, is an early adopter of new colors and effects. She’s daring and outgoing, but in a very feminine and cute vein.
The flag-inspired primary tones - red, white, blue - are paired with perky pastels and grating brights: grenadine, peppermint, soft pink and pale green.
Make-up is light and airy, focusing on creamy or sprayed transparent textures. Rosy cheeks and lips infuse a doll-like charm. A single feature is made to stand out in an otherwise minimalist beauty mood.
